Cooking Opportunities - I

A new professional kitchen empowers vocational training students with intellectual disabilities at María Corredentora School.

“Cooking Opportunities” is the story of a dream come true thanks to many helping hands.

A new workshop classroom for the Vocational Training students in Basic Kitchen Operations at Colegio María Corredentora has become a reality thanks to the collaboration of sponsors and families.

Young people with intellectual disabilities now have access to a professional kitchen where they can train for a future career in the Hospitality industry. Without your support, this kitchen—more than just a space—would not have been possible. As they say, “a door to opportunities.” Thank you for making it possible.

At Colegio María Corredentora (Madrid), we have more than 70 years of experience offering a quality, inclusive, and personalized education, thanks to a team of professionals committed to the needs of every student. Our educational project places the student at the center. Thanks to this philosophy and the close collaboration between professionals and families, we provide a holistic education that goes beyond the academic curriculum and focuses on the integral development of the student, addressing their pedagogical, functional, emotional, and spiritual needs.

TEACHING AUTONOMY

Our goal is for our students to be as independent as possible in all areas of their lives. Therefore, fostering autonomy is present in every aspect of their education, from personal care routines, order and responsibility for their belongings, to handling money and using public transportation.

TEACHING TO LIVE TOGETHER

Developing social skills that allow for full participation is fundamental. For this reason, social learning is incorporated throughout the entire educational journey, from Early Childhood Education to Professional Programs, with content and activities adapted to the students’ ages and abilities.

TEACHING TO ENJOY

Caring for emotional well-being is one of the school’s essential priorities. This care goes beyond the student and extends to their family, welcoming and accompanying them from the very first moment so that they feel supported at every step of the way.
